Job Introduction
Chalet Hotel Assistant - Ski Famille:
As a Hotel Assistant you will use your skills and passion for hospitality and customer service every day. Your role is to provide our guests with high quality service in a family friendly environment. Our Hotel has a Kitchen Team who is overall responsible for the food delivery, however, you will be expected to play a key part in assisting them.
We are looking for well presented, dedicated individuals with experience in hospitality and customer service. You will have a well-developed eye for detail and enjoy interacting with your guests. Formal qualifications or previous experience working overseas are not required; energy, enthusiasm and the ability to learn and work as part of a team are essential.
This role has many parts to it, ensuring that no two days are the same. If you are a ‘good all rounder’ within the hospitality industry, this would be a great opportunity for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Take responsibility in providing an excellent care free holiday to your guests
- Provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for your guests and ensure that excellent high standards of customer service, housekeeping, restaurant service and cleaning are maintained
- Meeting and greeting guests, assisting with luggage and checking in
- Maintaining a high daily standard of cleanliness throughout all public areas of the hotel and guest bedrooms, including dusting, hoovering, making beds, cleaning of bathrooms, ensuring all areas are hygienically maintained
- On ‘changeover day’, wave off departing guests before starting a thorough deep clean of the hotel, ready for your new guests
- Working as a team to prepare laundry for collection, and sorting and storing incoming linen deliveries
- Assisting with weekly stock takes (cleaning & linen) and any hotel deliveries that may arrive
- Ensuring all restaurant meal services are set-up, served and delivered to an excellent standard in a friendly way; including daily menu of breakfast, afternoon tea, children's meals, canapés and dinner which may also include pre-orders and buffet areas replenishments
- Assisting the catering team with general kitchen duties which will include pot washing, and basic food preparation
- Always adhering to Health & Safety incl. COSHH legislation and Food Hygiene best practices
- Ensuring all hotel entrances, fire exits and pathways are clear of rubbish internally and are regularly cleared of snow/ice, ensuring they are safe to use
- Night duties – during times of staff shortages, there may be a requirement to assist the team by covering overnight in the hotel. Should this be required, your duties would include:
- Being first point of contact and showing due diligence for all of your guests during the night
- Conducting regular property fire, security & safety checks
- Breakfast preparation
- Upkeep of communal areas and any other hotel duties as allocated at beginning of shift
- Attending the weekly staff meeting to ensure you are fully briefed on the following week’s arrivals and any other important information
- Promoting any company run event to your guests with knowledge and passion
- Delivering a service with a smile to our guests to exceed their expectations in every way
- Assisting with any other duties as requested by the Hotel Management Team, which could include bar shifts
- Assisting in the cleaning, set up and closing down of the property, both interior & exterior including staff accommodation at the beginning and end of the season
- Work with your team colleagues to ensure that all resort operations occur efficiently with minimum cost

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
- Proven experience within the hospitality or catering industry (Minimum 2 years experience)
- Enthusiastic, lively, sociable, friendly and a team player who possesses excellent communication and time management capabilities (essential)
- Customer service experience (essential)
- At least basic French language skills are preferable and would put you ahead of other applicants!
- Flexible and adaptable approach to roles, responsibilities and working hours (essential)
- Ability to thrive under pressure (essential)
- Previous seasonal experience (desirable)
- Able to deliver excellent customer service in all circumstances and to guests of all ages
- An understanding of the differences between adult and child holiday needs
- Knowledge of snow sports is advantageous
- Availability for the whole season (Mid November until end April)

- Current Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (to be completed after an offer of employment)
- A current Basic DBS check (to be provided after an offer of employment)
